I thoroughly enjoyed Konstantinos Karatolios' exploration of the Byzantine history of Greek Fire. The author has combined a detailed knowledge of this arcane science with an exploration of the competing theories of the formula and usage of Greek Fire. The only criticism I could make is that I wanted more! I look forward to more from this talented historian. As a lover of all things Byzantine, I was thrilled to cross paths with this gem of a book.
